The broadside was simply float-mounted (not laid down) on top of a piece of board & framed for the purposes of photography & shipping. The slight tears & discoloration occur where the paper broadside was folded. Unadulterated, not cut-down & in orig antique cond. Suffice to say, fortunately, it wasn't messed with. The broadside is a late 19th c veterinary advertisement, done w/period black ink typography of various fonts & sizes, w/a center image of a standing black horse. The paper broadside was previously folded & there's some minor splitting along these seams toward the center of the paper, where the folds criss-cross in the middle. Nothing's been done, such as the use of tape, acid-free or otherwise, to mend & close these breaks in the paper. It can be easily repaired professionally & nearly invisibly w/acid-free, archival tape on the back. Superlative.
